Q60 Pallet Shrink-Wrapping Detection
The adjustable-field sensor is mounted on the robot arm, looking horizontally at the pallet to be wrapped. As the arm moves around the pallet of stacked goods, the sensor detects when the goods are present. When the arm reaches the top of the stack, the product is no longer within the sensor's field of view. The sensor then sends a signal that causes the arm to reverse directions and complete the wrapping process. The Q60's 2-meter sensing range is key to the success of this application. The sensor can detect the product on the pallet at a distance of up to 2 meters, but ignores objects in the background, beyond this distance.
Objective:
To inspect objects being shrink-wrapped for product presence/absence, to trigger the wrapping mechanism to reverse and complete the shrink-wrap process
