PresencePLUS Vent Hole Verification

From a feeder bowl, an actuator moves the burner caps past an inspection station. The caps should have a large center hole, with a smaller hole to one side for a vent. Both holes must be located within a preset diameter. The sensor's Region of Interest (ROI) is selected to be the diameter within which both holes must be located. The sensor is configured to look for white pixels. Because the target is backlit, properly stamped holes show up as white. A good image is taught to be the number of white pixels that two complete holes should contain. A bad image contains fewer white pixels. If a hole is missing, the sensor sends an output to the PLC, causing the cap to be dropped into a reject bin.


Objective:
To inspect oil lamp burner caps during manufacture to verify they have both a wick hole and a vent hole
