PresencePLUS Ceramic Ring Orientation
A Region of Interest (ROI) is drawn for an area where the groove will be seen by the PresencePLUS sensor, when it is triggered by the convergent beam sensor. The area light produces a shadow adjacent to the groove, creating a dark band, which registers many dark pixels. When no groove is present, (i.e. when the ring is upside-down), no black pixels are counted, and the ring is diverted back to the feeder bowl.
Objective:
To detect the correct orientation of ceramic rings exiting from a vibratory feeder bowl.

PresencePLUS¢â model P2B65Q, LEDRA80X80 area light, SM312CV convergent beam sensor.
