OMNI-BEAM Parts Count

Two fiber optics are situated in the opposed mode to create a sensing window measuring 1.5" (the separation between the fiber sensing ends). Parts falling through the sensing window cause a small change in light level; this change is reliably detected by the ac-coupled circuitry of the OMNI-BEAM sensor head. The sensor¡¯s short one-shot pulse output is supplied to the input of the counting logic used in the process.

Objective:
Reliably count small pieces of hardware which fall from a vibratory feeder track into plastic bags.

Sensor Models:
OMNI-BEAM OSBFAC with OPBT2 power block and OLM8M1 logic module.

Fiber Optic Models:
Two IR2.53S
