PICO-GUARD F.O.S.S. Hard Disc Processing

In applications where design aesthetics are important, PICO-GUARD¢â Fiber Optic Safety Interlock Switches can be ¡°hidden¡± in a machine they are guarding. The small package of these switches makes them easy to incorporate into a sleek design, compared with much larger mechanical switches with key-type actuators. The active/passive pair is ideal for the removable cover, because the passive component is connected only to the cover to which it is mounted. The small design of the Remote Display allows for quick reference to status information without the need to open a panel to see the controller. All of the Controller¡¯s Status LEDs are duplicated on the Remote Display, which is easily mounted on a DIN rail or panel. Additional safety devices, such as an E-stop push button, can be monitored by the PICO-GUARD¢â controller, using its two Universal Safety Stop Interfaces (USSI) — one with trip output and one with latch output. In this example, an access point on the machine guarded by a MICRO-SCREEN safety light screen is monitored by the USSI, making the PICO-GUARD¢â controller the single point of control for the entire safety system.
