PICO-GUARD F.O.S.S. Engine Block Assembly

PICO-GUARD™ Fiber Optic Safety Interlock Switches are used to guard assembly machines with multiple access doors — using just one controller. The switches are non-contact, which provides longer life than mechanical switches used in similar applications. The fiber optic switches also allow for a degree of misalignment, resulting in reduced down-time and maintenance, compared with mechanical switches. Additional safety devices can be monitored by the PICO-GUARD™ controller, using its two Universal Safety Stop Interfaces (USSI) — one with trip output and one with latch output. An access point guarded by a MICRO-SCREEN safety light screen is monitored by the USSI, making the PICO-GUARD™ controller the single point of control for the entire safety system.
