PresencePLUS Gear Curing Verification
The heat-treating process leaves irregular dark markings on the shiny surface of the steel gears being inspected. Using a round ROI with a round mask over the gear's center, the PresencePLUS pixel-counting sensor can inspect only the inner ring of each spline shaft for black pixels. An untreated gear will have 45% fewer black pixels than the reference value and fail the inspection.
Objective:
To inspect spline shafts during manufacture to verify that they have been heat-treated
