T18U Empty Comb Verification
Originally, the hard disk substrates being rinsed in the comb rinsing machine were aluminum, and it was easy to tell, using standard photoelectric sensors, whether any disks remained in the rack following the rinsing procedure. When clear glass substrates are used, however, an ultrasonic opposed sensor pair can reliably sense whether any disks remain. (Photoelectric clear object detection sensors are not recommended for this application because of the spray rinse.)
Objective:
Verify that no hard disks remain on the "comb" following the rinsing procedure.
