EZ-BEAM Fill Level
The excess gain of the fixed-field EZ-BEAM barrel sensor rises sharply from 1x at the 2" cutoff point, to 60x at 1" from the sensor lens (gain figures are referenced to white paper). The 60x excess gain provides enough optical energy to reliably sense the level of ground coffee, which has very low reflectivity. The MINI-BEAM sensor pair is used to gate the fixed-field (inspection) sensor when the leading edge of a can blocks the opposed-mode beam.
Objective:
Verification of an adequate fill level of ground coffee in cans.
Sensor Models:
EZ-BEAM S18SN6FF50; MINI-BEAM SM31E and SM31R sensor pair
